The CCBS Family Center

The Family Center is a vital bridge that connects families with their sons’ experiences while they are at CCBS and when they return home.

The primary goal is to engage families in their sons’ therapeutic and educational journey. The Family Center helps families understand and adopt the CCBS tools, language and practices, creating a shared framework for communication and growth. Without family involvement, the changes a student undergoes at CCBS may not translate when he returns home … increasing the risk of relapse into old patterns.

These varied opportunities allow families to engage in ways that suit their unique circumstances, ensuring that everyone … from parents to siblings to extended family… can play a role in their student’s journey. This fosters a sense of community… a “village”… where they can build relationships with other families. These bonds often evolve into lifelong friendships, creating a network of support that extends beyond their time at CCBS.

Parents often describe their first visit to an event as a turning point, moving from feelings of overwhelm and isolation to a sense of belonging and hope. A mother attending a retreat might arrive with uncertainty but leave standing taller, rejuvenated by the connections and support she received. Families frequently express gratitude for the transformative impact of The Family Center.

“It was life-changing to be with other families who have walked a similar path.”

– CCBS Alumni Parent

Family Center Manager, Amy shared that the most rewarding aspect of her role is witnessing families transform, “Whether it’s a parent taking their first “breath of fresh air” in months, or a family leaving an event with renewed hope, these moments underscore the profound impact of connection and community.”

The Family Center is more than a program … it’s a lifeline for families navigating the challenges of growth and change. By fostering connection, support and opportunities through shared experiences, The Family Center ensures that families and students grow together. This collaborative journey strengthens family bonds and lays the foundation for lasting success beyond CCBS.
