Walking the Path of the Visionary by Embracing Truth
“Walk the path of the Warrior, the Healer, the Visionary, and the Teacher.
The wisdom is already within you.”
– Angeles Arrien, The Four-Fold Way
Summer is a season of renewal … a time of new beginnings and growth
The long days are associated with both relaxation and adventure. Summer can symbolize new beginnings and the culmination of efforts from the other seasons.
At CCBS, on June 20th we kick off the Summer focus on the VISIONARY as part of our Character Development Program.
In the Medicine Wheel, which reflects the cycles of life and personal development, summer is represented by Truth … the Visionary’s path. It’s a season of insight, of seeing beyond the present moment and of speaking and living with integrity.
A true Visionary isn’t just someone with grand ideas; they are someone who embraces truth, clarity and a deep understanding of the path ahead.
The Visionary’s Path in Our Own Lives
To walk the path of the Visionary is to embrace truth … both in ourselves and in the world around us. It means looking honestly at our choices, our values and our impact. It requires the courage to see things as they are, not as we wish them to be.
Yes, sometimes truth can be uncomfortable. It challenges us to let go of illusions, to admit when we are wrong and to realign with what truly matters. Summer invites us to clear away the mental and emotional fog, to trust our intuition and to step forward with clarity and purpose.
This season, what if we took a conscious step toward truth? Maybe that means speaking honestly in a conversation where we’d usually hold back. Maybe it means acknowledging a dream we’ve ignored. Or maybe it’s simply about being more authentic in our daily interactions … choosing truth over comfort, even when it’s hard.
Why This Matters for Boys … and the Men They’ll Become
For boys growing up in today’s world, developing a sense of vision and truth is more important than ever. They are often bombarded with mixed messages about who they should be, what success looks like and how to navigate life. But real strength comes from knowing who they are, what they stand for and how to lead with integrity.

At Cherokee Creek Boys School, we help our students walk this path of the Visionary. Through our character development program, rooted in the Medicine Wheel, we guide boys in learning how to think critically, embrace honesty and trust their own inner wisdom. They come to understand that being a Visionary isn’t about having all the answers … it’s about asking the right questions and living with integrity.
A key action step for the Visionary in the Medicine Wheel … and a core value at Cherokee Creek Boys School … is to “tell the truth without blame or judgment.” Truth, when spoken with kindness and clarity, has the power to heal, to transform and to guide us toward our highest potential.
Your Challenge: Step Into the Season of Truth
Summer invites us to reflect on the places where clarity and truth are needed in our lives. So, here’s a challenge for each of us:
What’s one way you can embody the Visionary this season?
Maybe it’s having an honest conversation you’ve been avoiding. Maybe it’s making a choice that aligns more closely with your values. Maybe it’s simply listening to your intuition and trusting the wisdom you already hold inside.
Whatever it is, take the step.
Truth isn’t just a concept … it’s a way of living. And as you do, remind yourself of these four important truths:
- I am Creative
- I am Authentic
- I am Truthful
- I am Insightful
The world could always use more Visionaries. May this summer be the season we each step more fully into our TRUTH.
