Fostering Healthy Digital Habits

Helping Young People Thrive in a Tech-Filled World
In a world dominated by screens, finding balance between digital engagement and real-life connection is crucial. While technology offers incredible opportunities, it also poses risks, including addiction, exposure to harmful content and privacy concerns.
At Cherokee Creek Boys School, we partner with Common Sense Media and utilize their Digital Citizenship Curriculum to help teach young people (and their families) how to use technology meaningfully and responsibly.

A Thoughtful Approach to Technology
On the CCBS campus, students’ tech use is intentionally limited, creating space for face-to-face interaction, outdoor exploration and hands-on learning. Click HERE to learn more about the CCBS approach to using digital technology.
Our approach, along with the Digital Citizenship Curriculum, teaches essential skills such as:
- Responsible sharing of information
- Safeguarding personal data
- Preventing cyberbullying through empathy and kindness
- Connecting with the natural world
- Emphasizing how to build in-person social skills and relationships
- Recognizing the family’s role in shaping healthy tech habits within the family
At CCBS, our goal is clear … to empower students and families to embrace technology in ways that enrich, rather than detract from, their lives.
