Join Us in Supporting Adolescent Mental Health Awareness

Last week, the Cherokee Creek Boys School (CCBS) cycling team completed something amazing … a 265-mile ride from Kansas City to St. Louis!

BOTO's Big Ride on the Katy Trail from Starting Line to Finish Line
From September 21st to 25th, our riders pedaled across Missouri to:

  • Raise awareness for adolescent mental health,
  • Raise funds for the CCBS Fire Keepers Scholarship Fund and
  • Challenge themselves while having fun!

Our goal is to raise $50,000 and the good news is …
you can still help us get there!

Why We Ride

Mental health matters for all of us, but it is especially critical for boys in their middle school and early teen years. These are the years when emotions run high, challenges feel overwhelming, and too often, boys don’t get the support they need.

At CCBS, we provide a safe, therapeutic environment where boys ages 10 – 15 can grow in courage, wisdom, truth and love. Through our membership in Choose Mental Health, we are able to provide scholarships to families who would otherwise not have access to this care.

That’s why every mile of this ride matters.
Every mile brings hope.
Every donation changes a life.

Who is BOTO?

Many ask … why is this event called BOTO’s Big Ride?

The answer is simple. The ride is named after our beloved mascot, BOTO the Bear, who greets everyone on the porch of our lodge.

Where does he get his name? His name stands for “Be Open To Outcome,” a very important lesson that is part of daily life at CCBS.

BOTO reminds our boys (and all of us) that life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes flexibility, curiosity and openness lead to the best outcomes of all.

BOTO is more than a greeter at the CCBS lodge … he’s a symbol of hope, transformation and joy. That’s why we ride in his name!

Join Us in Making a Difference

Support Adolescent Mental Health Awareness!

The BOTO’s Big Ride bike team crossed the finish line on September 25th,, but the mission is not over yet.

We invite you to join us in supporting the Fire Keepers Scholarship Fund. Whether you give $25, $100 or $1,000, your gift will directly help a boy and his family find the care they need.

Together, we can reach our $50,000 goal. Your gift to support adolescent mental health awareness can make a difference in someone’s life.

Because at CCBS, we believe in what BOTO teaches us daily …

Be open to outcome and amazing things will happen.

Every Mile Matters. Every Dollar Makes a Difference.
