Cherokee Creek Boys School

Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Westminster, South Carolina, is a “small school with a big heart”-  -a place where struggling middle school boys come to discover a sense of hope and optimism for their future.

Cherokee Creek Boys School (CCBS) is a positive, nurturing learning community that offers the benefits of small enrollment, a low student-to-staff ratio, strong academics, counseling, recreation and a family environment that is designed for learning, healing and growing. CCBS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Our close-knit team of professionals is dedicated to working with boys ages 11 to 15 who are dealing with emotional, academic personal and/or social challenges, that result  in unacceptable behaviors at home.

We work with both the student and the family to give the child the confidence and tools to take charge of his future and to strengthen social skills and family relationships.

Many students have diagnoses of attention deficit disorder, depression, anxiety, oppositional/defiant behavior and/or attachment issues.  The challenges associated with divorce, adoption, loss and the traditional pressures of adolescence also contribute to negative behaviors. Students may also have learning disabilities or learning style differences that have made school a frustrating source of failure.

Cherokee Creek is dedicated to challenging boys and their families to discover what is real and true about themselves and the world around them.

Our students are young, and we are dedicated to creating a safe place to dig deep and understand the issues that are at the root of difficult behaviors. Our warm, caring and supportive environment  helps students feel accepted and is a place where students and staff laugh, play, learn and grow together.
